Students will develop an awareness of art careers related to drawing media to include: illustration, drawing, animation, film-making, graphic design; and will be able to discuss these career options and/or understand their importance in society.(demonstrates advancing critical response)
Students will create a drawing that is inspired by different artworks from different times and places that also explores a contemporary cultural or social issue. (demonstrates advancing creative expression)

The student will be able to create, modify, import and export objects, text and graphics with the Adobe suite of graphic design programs.
The student will utilize tools effectively to enhance graphics for print and online.
The student will begin to apply beginning to intermediate skills to the design process.
Photoshop Objectives: tools, document settings, layers panel, layer fill and styles, selection techniques, image adjustments and panel, brushes, photo filters, masks, color management, manage native files, export files, file types.
InDesign Objectives: tools, importing and placing text, working with text and graphic frames, fill and stroke settings, pages panel, swatches panel, type and paragraph formatting, styles, master pages, story editor, object effects, tables, table of contents.
